Understanding Gambling Risks

Gambling spends money for a chance at a prize. The chance can be worse than it feels in the moment. People chase losses, hide the time, or treat a streak as income. It is not a wage and not a plan. This website does not promise a win, a jackpot, or a risk-free stake.

Minimum Gambling Age

The general minimum for gambling in Alberta is 18. An operator may set a higher age. The brief for this desk uses 21, which is the age Horseshoe announced for Alberta. The age gate on this browser is not a substitute for an identity check.

Recognizing Problem Gambling

Warning signs include spending more than you planned, borrowing to play, hiding activity, missing work or family, and feeling unable to stop. If that describes you or someone close to you, use the lines below. You do not have to be in crisis to call.

Deposit Limits

A deposit limit caps what a player can add to an operator’s balance in a day, week, or month. On this account the deposit record is a number in Canadian dollars per day. Lowering it applies now. Raising or removing it waits 24 hours. It does not cap a payment, because no payment is taken.

Loss Limits

A loss limit caps net losses in a period. The loss record on this account works the same way as the deposit record: a tighter number now, a looser number after the wait. There is no loss to count here, because there is no stake.

Time Limits

A time limit caps minutes of play. The time record is stored in minutes per day, with the same wait when you raise it. This website does not run a game clock.

Gaming Breaks

A gaming break pauses the account. On this desk you choose 24 hours, 7 days, or 30 days. You are logged out until that time, and the break cannot be ended early. It does not move money, because none is held. A break stored here does not pause an account you hold with a registered operator.

Self-Exclusion

You can store a self-exclusion on this account for 6 months, 1 year, 2 years, 3 years, or with no end date. Login stops. The period cannot be shortened here. That record covers Alberta Desk only.

Alberta also runs a centralized program at selfexclusion.ca. A person can exclude from regulated iGaming, from land-based casinos and racing entertainment centres, or from both. Periods published for that program include six months, one year, two years, and three years. Only the person can enrol. A family member cannot do it for them. This website does not submit that enrolment.

Account Restrictions

Closing the account keeps the row and refuses login. The closed email cannot be registered again. Neither a closure nor a break returns money, because none is held. An operator’s extra restrictions, such as a reality check during play, are not running here.

Account History

An operator’s account history is a statement of deposits, stakes, results, and withdrawals. This desk has none of those, because it takes no payment and launches no game. What is stored is the account row: the name, the limit numbers, a break, a self-exclusion, and messages sent from the same email. You can read the messages while logged in.

Responsible Gambling Support

Questions about a limit, a break, or a self-exclusion on this account go to the contact form, subject Responsible Gambling, or to support@lberta1.slonik.store. For harm, debt, or the feeling of not being able to stop, use the organizations below. They are independent of this website. Calling them does not close an account here, and closing an account here does not enrol you in the provincial program.

Player Protection

Registered operators in Alberta are expected to offer financial and time tools, activity statements, and a route into provincial self-exclusion, and to watch for harmful play. AiGC has also required RG Check accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council. This desk links those bodies and does not claim their accreditation for itself.
